Chief Noda has appeared in Coffee Houses around New England - Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine, and he even reached out as far as California, Ohio, Tennessee, Upstate New York, and Japan. Throughout his career, he always focused on "instrumental acoustic guitar music", where his repertoire varies from classical to jazz to folk to rock to contemporary and original compositions. His music utilizes alternate tunings and innovative picking techniques in order to bring out guitar's unique voices.

Chief is full of surprises - He approaches finger style guitar music with finesse and simplicity, leaving full of space where the audience's own silent voice fills in. His pieces are characterized by the novel use of harmonics as influenced by his guitar hero, Michael Hedges.

The audience cannot anticipate anything once he jumps up on stage. Sometimes he plays romantic, other times, he rocks. Sometimes, very percussive, and other times, smooth. All though his music, however, one thing remains - his guitar sings to your heart.

An integral part of his performance is his stories! His self-effacing humor reflects his outlook on the Universe. As he seeks balance within himself via music, the alter self manifests in jokes. He would argue that his stories are "intelligent", it is highly debatable and is left for the audience to judge.

Chief hails from Brockton, MA. He maintains his home page at

Away from guitar, he enjoys astrophysics, aviation photography, fluorescent minerals, and pet-sitting. He enjoys a walk in park with his dog, Penny, who has read and approved this promotion material.
