Asashi is traditionally a big fishing town, especially noted for tako (octopus) and tai (red snappers). Uondana is a famous market blocks lined with fish vendors. The arcade is decorated with fisherman's flags. I visited there on Dec 29, three days before the New Year's Day, the busiest time for the market.
