Himeji May 25 Monday

We arrived at Himeji Station (JR) at 10:30 AM. The castle is only 15 minutes on foot (we walked a lot!). The castle was beautiful and graceful. It also contained full of tricky paths to confuse the attacking enemy) and of defensive arrangements. I wish I knew more about them to explain.

There also is a small Japanese Garden called Kouko-en. You can buy a combined ticket (720 yens). I did not have much time, but managed to run through it. Next time, I would spend at least a couple of hours there.

We met at 2:15 PM, and waited for Shinkansen (Bullet Train). While we waited on the platform, one train blew by. It was fast! Doing probably about 100 miles per hour, slowing down for the safety at the station!

Shinkansen ride was so smooth you couldn't tell when it started to move or stopped.
